What is JUVIA?
JUVIA is a groundbreaking digestive balance formula, powered by plants and activated by ERME™. The food supplement works with your gut flora, instead of introducing new bacteria. The product has been developed with experts in gut health, using cutting-edge research - read more about the science behind JUVIA.
Our research shows that many people with digestive issues like IBS are still searching for a solution that really works for them.
This is because our gut flora is as unique and distinctive as we are. JUVIA is a supplement that works with your gut flora, instead of introducing new bacteria. It helps break down carbohydrates before they can cause problems in your gut.
What are the ingredients / what is ERME?
JUVIA contains our unique natural plant-based ingredient ERME™, which is just made up of barley malt extract and preservative (potassium sorbate). It’s uniquely formulated to activate the natural digestive enzymes in the grain, which help break down carbohydrates before they can cause problems.
Our product is specially prepared at carefully controlled temperatures to preserve the activity of the 15+ enzymes that germinating barley contains. JUVIA is the only product in the world that does this as in other malted barley products the enzymes are destroyed during the malting process. These enzymes are what make the magic work in your gut!

How do I take JUVIA?
You can take JUVIA mixed in some water or any cold drink or food (e.g. cereal, salad dressing or smoothie).
It takes 6 weeks for your microbiome to rebalance, which is why you take JUVIA in 2 phases:
First 6 weeks (Rebalancing Phase):
Take 1.5 tablespoons (22ml) twice a day, immediately before or after meals (e.g. 1.5 tbsp with breakfast and 1.5 tbsp with dinner).
After 6 weeks (Maintenance Phase):
Reduce to one 15ml tablespoon twice a day, immediately before or after your main meal. It’s important to note that everyone is different, and you may find that you’re more comfortable continuing the Rebalancing Phase or reducing your serving even further to 1 tablespoon a day.
Do NOT mix with anything hot, or the magic won't work! Also, please don't drink anything hot within 30 mins of taking JUVIA, unless you drink something cold afterwards (and before taking JUVIA). It's perfectly fine to eat hot meals when taking JUVIA.
When might I start to see a difference from taking JUVIA?
The Rebalancing Phase of taking JUVIA typically lasts 6 weeks, but some people notice a difference in how they feel in as little as 2 days. It’s important to note that everyone is different, and the time it takes can vary.
What does JUVIA taste like?
JUVIA is a liquid food supplement that is packaged in 450ml bottles. It’s similar in texture and taste to runny honey and can be poured straight from the bottle.
Is JUVIA suitable for children?
JUVIA is not suitable for children under 5 years old. Children aged 5-12 should take half the recommended adult serving - 11ml twice a day in the Rebalancing Phase, and 7.5ml once per day during the Maintenance Phase.
Is JUVIA gluten-free?
JUVIA is derived from barley grain which contains gluten. For people with gluten sensitivity, JUVIA should be fine to take and can even help so you'll be able to eat gluten again, but each person is different so please stay in tune with your body's needs. It is, however, not suitable for people with coeliac disease or a gluten allergy.
Are there side effects when taking JUVIA?
Most people who try JUVIA feel positive effects within a matter of days or weeks. But everyone is different, so please be patient with your body.
Some people may experience detox effects during the first days or weeks of taking JUVIA. This may include headaches, a little bowel discomfort or temporary worsening of the original symptoms. This is completely normal so it’s nothing to worry about. Carry on with your routine and you’ll start to see improvements in a short amount of time. If the detox phase is too uncomfortable, simply reduce your serving to 1 teaspoon a day and work your way up.
It is also recommended not to start taking the product just before the start of menstruation. You can start it right after your period and your gut bacteria should have stabilised after a month, in time for your next cycle.
Is JUVIA a medicine?
No, JUVIA is a food supplement.

Why is the microbiome important?
The gut microbiome is really important for your overall health - it’s vital in controlling digestion and helping your immune system. Your microbiome is made up of many trillions of bacteria and microbes. An unhealthy microbiome can lead to a number of health issues, including high cholesterol, raised blood sugar and weight gain. Having a healthy microbiome can help with brain health, digestive health and more.
My JUVIA has arrived with a frothy layer on it where it has settled in transit. Is this right?
Sometimes when the product has been moved around in transit it can settle with a frothy layer on top. This is nothing to worry about and is completely normal - just give the bottle a bit of a shake (just make sure it’s closed first!).
I left my bottle open without refrigerating for up to 48 hours, is it still ok?
As long as it wasn't left out in direct sunlight, it will probably be fine. If you notice a strong difference in smell or colour, it would be best to discard the bottle and start a new one.
If your other bottle hasn't been opened, it's ok to keep it in a cool cupboard. You only need to refrigerate it after it's been opened.
Can I take JUVIA alongside probiotics?
Yes - you can take both. That's no problem at all. You may well find you don't need the probiotics but if these have been prescribed by a medical professional then speak to them first before stopping.
Can JUVIA help with gluten intolerance?
There are 2 forms of gluten intolerance:
1 - In coeliac disease (allergy), gluten causes damage to the small intestine and so people must continue on a gluten-free diet. JUVIA will not be helpful for them.
2 - The 2nd form does no damage to the small intestine and this is in fact another variation of food intolerance, which many customers have told us improves considerably after JUVIA. So far, we have had many accounts from people who were previously gluten intolerant who are now able to eat their favourite foods again.
Does JUVIA contain sugar?
JUVIA contains sugars, particularly maltose and maltodextrins. This causes some people to worry that it may be unhealthy, however, our studies have shown that JUVIA increases the effectiveness of insulin, which controls the way sugar is handled in the body and the result is that the level of sugar in the blood is lower in the body after JUVIA, despite the sugars it contains.
Can I take JUVIA alongside any other medications?
JUVIA is a food supplement and is safe to take alongside most medications, but we recommend you check with your doctor before consuming anything new or adding anything to your diet. If you are on medication, make sure to check with your doctor before starting your JUVIA routine. Please share our medical professional's page with them, where they can find out more information behind the science of JUVIA.

Please note that anyone who has a disease which causes changes (whole or in-part) in the microbiome must start on low serving as the bacterial die-off phenomenon is likely to make symptoms worse at the beginning. We recommend starting on 5mls daily and slowly build it up. People with autoimmune disease may find they are best continuing on a low serving.

Please read the answer below if you have one of the following conditions:
- Colitis
- Crohn’s disease
Crohn’s disease and colitis are potentially serious conditions which may lead to the development of complications, which sometimes require surgery. We believe that we shall discover a role for JUVIA in the management of these conditions as we know that they are associated with changes in intestinal bacteria, which may be similar to that seen in IBS, and which have been shown to improve after careful diet.
At the moment, however, we have not performed specific trials of JUVIA in Crohn’s and colitis and because of the possibility of narrowing of the gut and other complications, at this stage, we cannot recommend that patients with these conditions try JUVIA unless they are recommended to do so by their medical advisors. You can direct them to our page for healthcare professionals where they can find out more about JUVIA.
